My personal experience with this lesson started while I was sitting in a gravel parking lot hundreds of miles from home or where I needed to be. My vehicle was broke down, my finances had run out completely and my competition equipment was in shambles.  As fate would have it, just to top this life changing moment off, it was pouring down rain and the gravel parking lot had cut both my legs and knees open. There I was broke, broken, bleeding and in tears sitting in some unknown parking lot in the middle of nowhere. I had worked so hard for so long to achieve my goal. I had worked harder than I had ever worked on anything in my life and it was over… That’s when I heard my mentors voice in my head  “To be the best in the world you just have to do 1% more than what anyone else is willing to do.”. Everything just clicked… I realized that THIS was it!! THIS was the moment I had been waiting for! Maybe 10% of people in the world ever even make it to this point. The point where everything in your world is on the line and it doesn’t even make scene anymore to carry on. This is the point where almost everyone quits… except the best!! This was the moment where I was supposed to shine. This moment in time was the gift that I had earned to show that I had 1% more than anyone else that had ever lived and attempted to do what I was trying to do. The moment I realized this I had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for the fact that I had this wonderful opportunity in front of me. Skipping to the end of this story the next day I achieved my life long dream and broke my first world record!

I know without this lesson my chances of accomplishing this dream would have been greatly diminished. I hope everyone receiving this today has the opportunity for this lesson to work similar miracles in your life!!
